Did you know that Santorini used to be a major pumice exporter? The island’s name prior to the volcanic eruption (that caused the entire center to cave in) used to be Strongoli. Then, it was changed to Thera, and again to Santorini (Saint + Irene). It’s rumoured that there are more churches than residential houses on the island, but the iconic sunsets are undisputed…

Part of the Acrylic Postcards series (IG: @acrylicpostcards), which features paintings based on photos from my travels. The aim of this project is to inspire and showcase some off-the-beaten-track destination gems.

-Original acrylic painting on canvas-textured paper (300gsm, 140lb, 100% acid free)
-Paper is roughly 15x15cm wide. The painting is roughy 14.5x145cm wide. Couple mm differences between acrylic poastcards may occur.
-Varnished to protect from dust and UV light.
-Comes with certificate of authenticity.
-Signed on front.
-Ships flat.
