When I first hiked to this isolated chapel from Pienza, it was New Year’s Day and the first time I saw sun in a month. This chapel is the epitome of Tuscany, and it’s always a pleasure to stroll over to see it in all the changing colours and shadows. (It also merits a mention that I see the chapel from my bedroom window so it never feels too far away)
Local legend has is that the Virgin Mary appeared to a shepherdess many moons ago; I sometimes hope to find a sacred soul ready to illuminate this rambling soul.
