Cuba: when I wasn’t dodging (un)tempting wedding proposals or staring at impressive dance steps flaunted by nonchalant teenagers, my eyes were glued on wooden door frames, opened windows, and church tops. This asymmetrical red-hatted cathedral in Cienfuegos was just another splash of chipper color in a square already brimming with floating balloons, candy carts, and outfits spanning the entire rainbow, but it’s quiet surveillance was noted with a grin.
